What I've Been Thinking About

I know it's before when I am supposed to start, but the past week has given me a lot to think about... Last week was Christmas, and since then I have been thinking a lot about family. My family (immediate and extend) is awesome. They are some of the most amazing people and they mean the world to me. No, my family is not the 'normal' definition of perfect, and I would not want it to be. Yes, we have our quirks and things that make us 'different', but I would not want it any other way. Sometimes we say things and later we wish hadn't, but once you move past all the imperfections you see something amazing and something important (trust, respect, love) and something tangible -you see a family. We can lean on each other and we know we can depend on each other. In our own special little way... we are perfect. We have love, we have hope, we have a support system, we have memories, we have a future, we have trials, we have fights, we have misfortunes- most importantly, we have each other.

The second thing I have been thinking a lot about it humility and gratitude. This Christmas season some wonderful person or family decided to bless our family, I do not know who it is, but I am truly grateful to them. They helped remind me and that this season is not about getting and it is not about having the newest and the best. It's about giving. It's about hope. It's about faith. It's about remembering Christ- His spirit, His charity and most importantly His love.
